Jesus often said stuff where the only people getting upset were the religious of his day, the pharisees. Jesus always spoke the will of the Father! Never listen to "Christians" even "pastors" who say religion and politics don't mix and try to shut you up. You have a voice. If you are led by the holy spirit, its their religious spirit getting triggered. If you heard the holy spirit to say something it can't be the holy spirit through them contradicting that.
